It seems like all of a sudden, my social media feeds are all blowing up with people making bread, and honestly, I'm here for it! So I'll add to the craze and share with you the bread recipe we use here at home whenever we are looking to have some homemade bread, but without all the work it takes to make it. I know, I know...some of you like the work and the slow living feels that is involved with bread making, and I totally understand that. But if you're just wanting a simple recipe, that's quick, easy and delicious...look no further!
Here's what you'll need:
3 cups flour, plus 1/4 cup
3/4 Tablespoon Salt
3/4 Tablespoon Yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water (just above body temp)
Directions: Mix all ingredients in a bowl and let it sit covered (loosely) with a fabric napkin or towel for 2-5 hours. After that, put the mixture into the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
On Baking Day: Form rolls and put an X on top of each roll with a knife. Let it sit, uncovered, for 40 mins (set oven to 450 degrees once 20 mins has gone by). Bake for 30 minutes and voila!
Enjoy this crusty, delicious, salty bread! It's perfect with soup, but good luck getting past the 'slap butter and eat' part of the day :)
